+-4.01 Acres situated along the southern shores of the Progresso Lagoon south of Progresso Lagoon Village in the Freshwater Creek Area in the Corozal District. The property extends from the main Chunox/Sarteneja Road to the Progresso Lagoon. The property 356 feet of Progresso Lagoon frontage and about 2 acres of the property has been filled but further filling will be required in some areas.
There is a foundation with erected walls on the property being roughly 20 x30 feet which may be able to be salvaged and enclosed either to be used as a main residence or for caretakers. However, the foundation is about 150 feet from the high water mark. The original layout is 3 bedroms, 2 bathrooms, kitchen/dining/living space overlooking the lagoon. There is a shell of a building that is about 10×12 feet at the entrance of the property where it was used as a security booth. The property can easily be further developed into a eco-tourism or retirement property. Electricity is at the junction of the Progresso Road Village and Chunox Road which is approximately 1.1 Miles from the property.
The best way to access this property is from Orange Walk District which is approximately 17.1 miles. The government of Belize and the European Union have partnered up to pave the road all the way to Progresso Village and preliminary work was started but discontinued due to problems with road contractor but hoping this will soon be resolved.
The property is along a main all-weather road that is the access road that goes to Chunox/Sarteneja Village and Little Belize (a Mennonite Community). The junction to Progresso Lagoon road is approximately 1.1 of a mile from the property and Progresso Lagoon Village is under 4 miles from the property where you can do small shopping and enjoy the company of the local community.
Belize City is approximately 55 miles from Orange Walk Town and the International Airport is approximately 63 miles from the property!
